Biostatistics

All of the services outlined below are provided by faculty and staff in the Division of Biostatistics and Epidemiology, Department of Healthcare Policy & Research. 

Biostatistics and Epidemiology Consulting Service

The Biostatistics and Epidemiology Consulting Service provides a range of services to principal investigators (PI) during the process of study development, activation, and support throughout the life-cycle of a clinical trial. 

Areas of assistance include:

  • Sample size determination and power analyses
  • Protocol and study database design
  • Statistical analysis
  • Preparation and revisions of manuscripts
  • Questionnaire development
  • Program evaluation 

PIs should commence collaborations with the Biostatistics and Epidemiology Consulting Service early in the study development phase and before submitting to the Clinical Study Evaluation Committee (CSEC) or Institutional Review Board (IRB).

Clinical and Translational Science Center (CTSC) Research Design and Biostatistics Core (RDBC) 

PIs may also utilize the CTSC RDBC for biostatistical support.

Assistance with Statistical Considerations - CSEC Application

For investigators needing assistance with the preparation of the statistical considerations section of the CSEC application, please complete and submit the consultation form and a biostatistician will contact you. 

Access to Statistical Software

If you would like access to statistical software packages such as SAS or SPSS email your contact information and application preference directly to support@med.cornell.edu to have the program downloaded to your workstation.
