Launched on January 1, 2013, the Weill Cornell Medical College/NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital Joint Clinical Trials Office (JCTO) was established to address the need for an innovative, fully-integrated administrative center designed to facilitate the highest level of excellence in clinical research. The JCTO is actively engaged in optimizing operations and offering a diverse range of support services intended to increase the number, quality and impact of our clinical trials.

The JCTO provides a centralized infrastructure supporting a range of comprehensive administrative services that assist investigators and research personnel in the activation and management of clinical trials. Areas of support include contracting, finance, compliance, research integrity, study activation and conduct, training and development, and subject recruitment through use of social media and community outreach.

Recent Milestones

  • July 1, 2013 – Implemented a new IRB framework increasing the number and frequency of board meetings to approximately 100 per year with dedicated committees for General and Cancer
  • July 1, 2013 – Implemented the Clinical Research Enrollment and Study Tracking (CREST) system
  • August 15, 2013 – Implemented an institution wide Clinical Study Evaluation Committee (CSEC)
