An Observational Study of Patients with Chronic Hepatitis B (CHB) Infection

Clinical Trial Details

This study is for men and women who have been diagnosed with chronic hepatitis B (CHB). CHB is a serious disease caused by a virus that attacks the liver. The virus, which is called hepatitis B virus (HBV), can cause lifelong infection, cirrhosis (scarring) of the liver, liver cancer, liver failure, and death.

This research study involves the collection of medical information that is generated through the normal course of HBV disease management. This is an observational study and no specific treatments will be prescribed during participation in this study.

If an individual agrees to participate in this study, information about the history of the participant’s disease and their treatment over the last 3 years will be collected. Medical records older than 3 years related to the hepatitis B diagnosis, functional cure (if applicable), or start and stop of treatments for hepatitis B may be requested.

Participants will have the opportunity to participate in optional portions in this study:
   -Optional blood sample collection
   -Optional questionnaire
-Optional additional protected health information (PHI) for data linking

Participants will be compensated for their time.
