Communicating Options for Advanced Breast Cancer Support and Treatment (COAST)

Clinical Trial Details

The purpose of this pilot study is to evaluate a new decision support tool (“COAST”), designed for people with advanced breast cancer. This tool is intended to support patients and their providers to have meaningful conversations regarding their care and treatment. Through this study, we hope to better understand and improve our support of patients in making informed choices about their treatment.

The COAST decision support tool is available in a booklet version and a website based on preference.

Participants will be asked to complete a baseline survey prior to receiving the tool and a follow-up survey 2-4 weeks after receiving the tool. A subset of participants will also be approached for an interview about their experience.

Key Eligibility:
  1. Open to men and women above the age of 18 who have been diagnosed with advanced breast cancer (de novo or recurrent).
  2. Receiving care at NYP-WCM, NYP-Queens, or NYP-Brooklyn Methodist Hospital.
  3. Participants must speak English, Spanish, or Mandarin

Detailed eligibility will be reviewed when you contact the study team.
